May Ipsy Glam Bag

Today I am going to share with you what I received in my Ipsy Glam Bag for the month of May. This month's theme is Jetsetter and the bags are from Breakups to Makeup.

It costs $10 a month and they bill you on the first of the month every month. Shipping usually starts around the middle of the month and they start giving out little sneak peeks of what is all going to be in the bags for the month. It is a canvas bag with the signature Ipsy zipper pull and I love the print on it..."Contents: My Life" which is what most women carry in their makeup bags, lol!

The first item I got in my bag this month is probably my favorite out of all of it. I received the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil + BONUS Revolution High Color Lipgloss. This liner is a long lasting waterproof liner that glides on smoothly to prime and define your lips for a long lasting lip color and clean lines. I have been wanting this pencil for quite some time and now I have a deluxe sample of it to try out. Also included with the pencil were 2 little blister packs of the new Revolution High Color Lipglosses in the shades Bittersweet and Failbait for us to try out. I had heard these were coming out and I was so excited to try them out first. I will say that I loved the lipgloss samples so much that I went out and bought some of them at Ulta (I'll have a post up on those soon).

The next item I got was the Chella Eyebrow Color Pencil in the shade Tantalizing Taupe. I have not tried this one out yet but I will try it soon, lately I've been using tinted brow get on my brows but I really want to see how this works for my brows. The pencil seemed to glide smoothly and have a creamy consistency. It is a mechanical pencil which I love because sometimes I hate sharpening wooden pencils, the tips usually break off or crumble so mechanical is always nice to have. This was a full sized product.

Then 3rd item I got was the Peter Lamas Detoxifying Citrus C Facial Cleanser. I have tried this once so far and I was pleased with the way it cleansed my skin. Plus since I have sensitive skin I was worried that my skin would react badly to it but I had no reaction at all and it left my skin feeling soft, smooth, and clean. It did not have a harsh scent so that was nice too. This has a purifying blend of Chamomile, Coconut, and Alba Bark combined to lock in moisture. It is 100% Vegan, paraben-free, and sulfate-free.

The 4th item I received was the Luxie Beauty Rose Gold Tapered Blending Eye Brush 205. I love this brush, it's so soft and pretty. I got another brush in my Ipsy bag from this company a couple months ago, it was an angled powder brush or something for your face and I absolutely love it so when I seen I was getting this one I was excited. This brush is 100% Animal Cruelty Free and it is made with high quality synthetic hair bristles that are super soft. It is also coated with a revolutionary antibacterial solution for minimal brush cleaning. I have used this brush a little and I am in love with it!!

The last item I got was the CoTZ Face Natural SPF 40. I have not tried this out yet so I can't say how it feels on, how well it works, or if it has a good scent or not. It is a weightless formula that will leave your skin feeling silky, smooth, and non-greasy. It is 100% free of oils, chimical sunscreens, preservatives, fragrances, oils, parabens, PABA, gluten, and Phythalates. Some people say because it is tinted and has a matte finish that it works well under your makeup and could be used like a primer. I just haven't tried it out yet so I can't comment on my opinions on all that yet.

Overall I love this bag and everything I got in it. I really am blown aways most months on the quality of the products that we get in our bags for as little as $10!! It is a nice little treat to myself every month!!

April Ipsy Glam Bag

This month the theme is "Beautifully Bohemian". The bag is a really pretty woven "straw" like bag with pops of color weaved in. It also has the signature Ipsy zipper pull. I am really liking this bag and I think it is one of my favorites that I've gotten so far.

The first product I received in my Ipsy bag is this Julie G nail polish in the shade Damsel. This is a beautiful mid-tone pink creme. I have never tried this brand before but have heard lots of good things about them. I was so happy to get this in my bag and I love it. I will just say that I am definitely going to be buying some more Julie G polishes as soon as I can! This retails for $3.99.

The next item I got was this Mullein & Sparrow Mini Lip & Cheek Tint. It is a all natural sheer, tinted balm. As you can see from my swatch above, there really is not tint or sheer color to it. On me it is just a clear glossy balm. I do still love it and I will use it frequently. It feels really good on my lips. It is 0.25 oz and from what I can see on their site is this is the only size it is available in and retails for $10.

The 3rd item I got was the Pandora's Makeup Box Blush in the shade Carnation Pink which is a peachy pink matte blush. It had a silky texture and was very pigmented. I have not tried this one out on my face yet but I have a feeling that with a light hand this will look beautiful on. This appears to be the blush refill only but on their site you have the option to purchase it with a magnetic refillable box. The blush refill only retails for $14 and if you want the magnetic refillable box with it then it retails for $18, so the box is only an additional $4 which isn't bad since you can refill the box and save on the waste when it's empty.

The 4th item I got was theBalm Cosmetics Nude Dude Eyeshadow Single in the shade Fit which is a shimmering copper. It is very smooth and nicely pigmented, it can be applied dry or wet for a different look. I haven't worn this yet but I know I'm going to like it and will use it often. From what I could tell on their site is that these shadows are not available individually but they are a part of a pallet of 12 shades which retails for $36.

The last item I got was this MicaBeauty Eye Primer. It is perfect for sealing in eye shadows and foundation, it can enhance your look, go from shimmer to matte in seconds. It is waterproof and is long lasting and smudge proof. This is a a 4g pot and the full size is 8g/0.3oz. It retails for $44.95 for a full sized pot on their site. I'm glad I got this one because I am almost out of eye primer and now I don't have to go out and purchase some more.

I am very pleased with everything that I received in my Glam Bag this month and I can see myself using every product.

The bag this month is a pretty blue floral print with the signature "Ipsy" zipper pull. The material of this bag is the same as last month's material, it's a nice coated fabric that is heavier than regular fabric.

The first item I got in my bag was this NYX Cosmetics Butter Lipstick in the shade Little Susie. This shade is kind of a pinky color. I love these lipsticks because not only are they affordable but they are very comfortable on your lips. They don't dry out my lips at all. This was a full sized product.

The second item I got was the Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Creme Oil. This is a luxurious styling crème made of the lines staple blend of soy, cocoa and argan oil. Soy Renewal Crème Oil gives lightweight conditioning and moisturizing that helps hair look and feel extra healthy! I have not tried this yet so I am not sure how well it works or if I like it. This was a travel sized product.

The third item I got is the Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter, this is formulated for light skin tone so it should work well on me. Chella says it is a neutral pencil that will brighten and visibly lift your eyes when lightly applied on the brow bone, dark circles, blemishes and red spots. In addition, this multi-purpose pencil can be used to brighten and “open” the eye area by applying to the water line and inner corners of the eye. I haven't used it yet but I am really looking forward to trying it out real soon! This is a full sized pencil.

My fourth item I got was the Dr. Brandt Skincare Pores No More Anti-aging Mattifying Lotion. This is a deluxe sample sized. This is a lightweight lotion formulated with apple stem cells to help delay the natural signs of aging by maintaining the longevity and activity of stem cells in the skin. Simultaneously, retinol stimulates new cell turnover and improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. They say it is "oil-free, helps delay the natural signs of aging by maintaining the longevity & activity of stem cells in the skin. Also stimulates new cell turnover, improving the appearance of lines & wrinkles and increases water reserves, limits water loss & improves lipid barrier function to balance moisture levels". I haven't tried it yet but I will be giving it a try real soon.

The final item I got was the Marsk Mineral Eyeshadow in the shade Lucky Penny. I believe this is a full sized product. They are 100% natural, mineral based loose powder. Featuring a creamy texture, this highly pigmented powder is easily blendable and offers the ability to create depth and intensity around the eye. I have not tried it out yet but it looks to be a copper color and I've heard it's really pigmented.


That is all I got in my bag this month and I was pleased with most of the items. The styling creme and mattifying lotion I'm not sure about yet but that's just because I have really sensitive skin so I'm always unsure of how my skin will react to something new. I am sure that I will use the mattifying lotion but I am just not sure how I will like the styling creme in my hair, I don't put a lot of stuff in my hair because it is fine and I don't want to weigh it down and I hate that when it does.

February Ipsy Glam Bag

This month's theme for Ipsy was #ipsyLOVE which I thought was very fitting for February (Valentine's Day). The bag is a really cute vinyl bag with a pink, white, and grey checked pattern and of course there is the signature Ipsy zipper pull on it. I really love this bag and I think I might change out the one I carry in my purse for this one.

The first item I received in my bag this month was a Rob Scheppy for 'TiniBeauty Eyeshadow. It is in the shade Pearl Fizz, a shimmering beige powder shadow from the palette designed for 'Tini Beauty by Hollywood makeup artist Rob Scheppy. It is a full sized shadow and retails for $12 on 'Tini Beauty's site. I have not tested this out but I am sure I am going to like it, I love having shimmery beige shadows that I can use for creating neutral eye looks or just swiping on by itself when I just want to wear minimal makeup.

The next item I got was a parfume sample from Joya. It is the Composition No. 1 Parfum Oil. JOYA Composition No. 1 is a luscious perfume oil in a beautiful and convenient roll-on travel-sized bottle: fruity, floral, creamy, citrus, a little musk, a lot refreshing. Perfume oil, unlike traditional alcohol-based fragrances, whispers instead of screaming. JOYA parfum realizes the true essences of its top, heart and drydown notes and gently absorbs on the skin of each wearer, making for an intimate and personal experience. Composition No. 1 interacts with your own chemistry and smells different on everyone and is sure to make an impression. This is a sample size and the full size retails for $30 on Joya's site. I have not tested this to see how I like the scent so we will see what happens.

The 3rd item I got was a ModelCo. Blush Cheek Powder in the shade Peach Bellini (a peachy pink). ModelCo’s BLUSH Cheek Powder creates a beaming, rosy glow to brighten every complexion. The micronized color pigments and luxurious, pressed powder delivers a sheer, natural radiance that lasts all day. I have not tried this item yet because just by looking at it I am wondering if it will be too dark for me but I will give it a try and see how I like it. This is a full sized product and it retails for $22 on ModelCo's site.

The next item I was a little excited to get because I have been wanting to try this brand out and see how I like it. This is the Cargo Mini Lip Gloss in the shade Anguilla. Its super high shine gloss delivers intense color payoff and locks in moisture to keep lips feeling hydrated. This longwearing lip gloss has a slick texture that feels creamy gliding over lips without being sticky. Ingredients such as Vitamin E and Jojoba Seed oil help increase lip moisture and decrease the appearance of furrows around the mouth while increasing lip volume to its maximum fullness. I have yet to try this item out as well (I'm a little behind this last week or so) but I think I am going to love it and I will probably wear it a lot, especially on the weekends when I wear minimal makeup. This is a sample size and the full size retails for $16 on Cargo's site.

The last item I got in my bag this month I was really excited about because I love trying out new brushes. This is the Luxie Beauty Large Angled Face Brush 504. This is such a soft brush and I am really liking it. The Luxie Rose Gold Large Angled Face Brush is a 100% Animal Cruelty Free brush with high quality synthetic hair bristles that are soft to the touch. With its Vegan makeup qualities from bristles to ferrule, this Rose Gold brush is a must have in your makeup collection. Coated with a revolutionary antibacterial solution for minimal brush cleansing, your brush remains fresh and clean for longer periods of time. The density of the brush allows for an even application without any wasted product and does not absorb the product into the bristles. This one retails for $8 right now on Luxie Beauty's site.

I absolutely loved everything I received in my Glambag this month and I can't wait to see what Ipsy has in store for us in March!!

January Ipsy Bag Unbagging

This month's theme for Ipsy is Start Fresh which I think is fitting for January, it's the start of a new year and an opportunity to start fresh with some things. The bag this month is very simple, it's made of a kind of heavy textured vinyl. It has a orange zipper with the signature "Ipsy" zipper pull and it's white on one side and a royal blue on the opposite side. It's very different and yet so simple at the same time in my opinion.

The first item I received in my bag was an item I actually already own but I'm happy to have another one. It is the Real Techniques Fine Liner Brush. It is "the ultimate tool for precision application of liquid or cream eyeliner. The ultra-plush synthetic bristles are hand-cut and 100% cruelty free. Its extended aluminum handle is light and easy to use to make you look pixel-perfect even in the harshest of lights!" I have actually not tried this brush out yet (not even the one I already owned) but I plan to try it out real soon. I have a feeling I am going to love this for perfecting my application of liquid, cream, or gel liner.

Then next item I received in my bag was the J. Cat Beauty Fantabulous Gel Liner. I was really excited to get this item because I have been wanting to try out gel liner. I used to be horrible at eye liner application no matter what I tried but now with practice I'm starting to get better. Now I want to perfect my winged liner look. This gel liner is intense yet it has a smooth creamy texture that lasts all day long and is smudge-proof! The color I got was Blue Black which I am assuming (because I haven't tried it yet) is like a jet black shade.

The next item I got I think will go well with my new gel liner. It is the Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eyeshadow in the shade Ethereal which is a shimmery champagne shade. This has an "incredibly innovative formula that pushes natural makeup and mineral color to new bounds. Rich, lasting, creaseless eye shadows are infused with coconut water for a velvety, cream-like finish. Formulated without: Phthalates, parabens, carmine, beeswax, lanolin, mineral oils, propylene glycol, petroleum and FD& C colors (along with other nasties you do not want on your skin). No animal testing. Gluten-free, 100% vegan and cruelty-free." I can't wait to use this along with the liner I got!

I also received the Manna Kadar Cosmetics Sheer Glo shimmer lotion. It is an incandescent liquid that lights up skin with all over radiance. Mix with foundation or wear alone to provide a luminous glow for all skin types. An especially amazing product for mature or dry skin. Sheer Glo provides a youthful glow and dewy finish. Use on face and/or body and get glowing." I'm not sure if I will use this much but I might try to play around with it. I did rub some on the back of my hand and it did have a nice glow without being overwhelming with shimmer or glitter.

The last item I got in my bag was something that I'm not sure I will use but I'll hang on to it because you never know when I'll want something like this to add to my skincare routine. It is the Nourish Organic Renewing Eye Cream. It says it "provides rich hydration to the delicate skin around the eyes. This powerful product will leave your eyes looking brighter, smoother and younger looking. The Key Ingredients are:
• Avocado Oil - Restores and protects skin, while helping retain clarity and brightness.
• Moroccan Argan Oil - Packed with restorative omega fatty acids to intensely hydrate and replenish.
• Shea Butter - Deeply moisturizes and softens skin."

I had been debating on whether or not I wanted to cancel my Ipsy subscription because I was starting to accumulate a lot of stuff that I haven't used yet but when I seen what I was getting in my Glam Room I was very pleased with the products and knew that I couldn't quit!

December Ipsy Bag

I know I'm a little late in showing this to you but you know how it is around the holidays. Today I've got my December Ipsy bag to show you. This month's theme is "Thinking of You". The bag this month is pretty simple but I love it. It's not one of those round barrel bags that we've gotten in the past but it's more of a domed cosmetic bag that is a simple black and has a really cute heart shaped zipper pull that has "Ipsy" on it. There were 5 items in my bag and 3 were full sized products, the other 2 were deluxe sample sizes. The little card has an inspirational quote on one side and mine says "You are a Brave Soul". There were multiple different cards this month so that's kind of neat to go online and see all the different quotes.

The first item in my bag was this Pixi by Petra Fairy Dust in the shade Brightening Bare which is a medium nude sheen. It has a nice applicator wand for easy application. It is perfect to use dry for a sheer effect, or wet for intense colour. The illuminating powder pigments give concentrated glow & enhancing color instantly. The mica provides dense natural pigment and the pearl powder rejuvenates & brightens. It retails for $10 on Pixi's site and this is a full sized product.

The next item in my bag was this NYX Cosmetics Butter Lip Balm in the shade Red Velvet. It is pretty sheer and gives you a nice tint of red color. This Buttery Lip Balm is addictively soft and scrumptious and perfect for adding a subtle hint of color for a naturally flirtatious pout. Apply directly to bare lips or apply it over lip liner for more intense color. This is a full sized product. It retails for $4 on the NYX Cosmetics site.

The next item I was excited for because I have been wanting to try this mascara but didn't want to purchase a full size in case I didn't like it. This is the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara. It is like a pushup bra for your lashes, tarte’s best-selling mascara lengthens, curls, volumizes and conditions to deliver a 330% increase in lash volume instantly. The high-performance formula is also infused with naturally-derived olive esters to help nourish and protect lashes. I have tried this and it does make my lashes look amazing. I've only tried it once so after a few more uses I'll form my final opinion on this one. This is a deluxe sample size but the full size retails for $20 on Tarte's site.

The next item I got I wasn't too sure about and I haven't tried it yet so I can't tell you if I like it or not but here's my initial thoughts on it. This is the Beauty Without Cruelty A.H.A 3% Facial Cleanser. It is a lightly-foaming, soap-free cleanser that removes dead surface skin cells, daily impurities, and excess oil without over-cleaning your skin. Nature's own alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) gently and deeply clean and actively clarify your skin without disturbing it's natural balance. Pure premium Oshadhi aroma-therapeutic essential oils tone, condition, and calm, leaving your skin clean, clear, and refreshed. It is also Paraben Free, pH Balanced. 100% Vegan-Vegetarian, never tested on animals. Cruelty-free since 1963. Now my first thoughts on this was when I opened the bottle it has a really strong smell that I can't quite describe, it's almost like a really strong soap smell. I'm not sure if I'm going to like that smell, hopefully the smell doesn't stick around after you've used it and rinsed your face. This is a deluxe sample size but a full size 8.5oz bottle retails for $11.95 on their site.

The last item I got I was really excited about because they have had this product before and I wasn't lucky enough to get it them but I got it now. This is the Crown Brush Infinity Shadow/Crease Duet Brush. This dual-ended brush offers the best of both worlds. The shadow brush is perfect for applying eye shadow or contouring the eye, while the crease brush is designed to be used dry for defining the eye, or wet for precision concealing. This is created with Crown’s Infinity Synthetic Fibers. This is a full sized product and retails for $6.99 on their site.

November Ipsy Glambag

Today I am going to show you what I received in my November Ipsy Glambag. There were a couple things I really liked and was excited about but there were also a couple things that I was kind of "meh" about. I'll show you everything and tell you what I thought. This month's theme was "Girl Meets Glitter" The bag was really cute and even though it's all glittery, it's a "vinyl" bag so there is no glitter to come off on everything. I love the bag, it's really cute.

The first item in my bag was the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye concealer. This is just a deluxe sample size. I have heard great things about it and was really excited to try it. It says that "it's infused with anti-aging technology, vitamins and high-performance pigments, this multipurpose concealer improves the appearance of wrinkles and effectively conceals the appearance of skin imperfections including dark circles, bags, redness, hyperpigmentation, broken capillaries, age spots and discoloration. Finally an extreme concealer that makes you look younger! How to use: Warm it up by placing a dot-size amount on the back of your hand and rubbing gently with the tip of your finger. Tap this concealer directly onto your under eye area, over blemishes or to other areas of concern that you wish to conceal. Blend by smoothing the product over your skin using circular motions with your favorite IT Cosmetics brush. A little goes a long way and this formula is completely buildable, so for more coverage, simply repeat the process." I have used it a couple times and I do find that it does work very well for concealing my dark circles and it really does stay put. I'm going to use it a few more times before I decide if I'm going to buy the full sized product. I've been on the hunt for a great concealer. The full size product retails for $24 for .28fl oz.

The next item I got was SeaRx Micro-Dermabrasion Face & Beauty Scrub. This was an item that I really wasn't too excited about. As I've said before I have really sensitive skin so I am always leary about trying new skin care products. They say that you can "exfoliate your whole body with this all-over scrub, which utilizes an advanced crystal blend system. The gentle scrub effectively exfoliates, removes dead cells and reveals softer, healthier skin. Featuring minerals and extracts, the formula improves skin tone and leaves you with smoother, firmer looking skin." Maybe I'll just try it out on a body part and see how it works instead of trying it on my face, but then again I am really curious to see how well this would work on my face. This is a deluxe sample size and a full size retails for $32 for 100g of product.

The 3rd item I got was the Marc Anthony Oil Of Morocco Argan Oil Volume Shine Hairspray. This was one of the items I was excited to try because I love hairsprays to tame my fly-aways and with the argan oil it nourish my hair. They say that you can "get extra volume, shine and hold with this dual purpose hairspray; nourishing and styling in one! This argan oil, keratin and grape seed oil infused hairspray gives you strong and flexible hold plus deep nourishment, strengthening and conditioning as you style. The non-water based, fast drying formula freeze-frames your volume and hold without stickiness or flaking and it’s flexible finish creates workable styles for easy re-styling without crunch or heavy build-up. It creates a luminous finish and shields against humidity for longer lasting styles. Sun Protectors keep the sun and other elements from damaging your full bodied mane." I haven't tried it out yet but I will be real soon and I'm sure I'm going to love it. This is a deluxe sample size and a full size retails for $8.29 for 9oz at Walgreens.

The 4th item I got in my bag was the Starlooks lip gloss in the shade Guilty Pleasure. It says that "Starlooks Lip Glosses are created with a truly moisturizing, luxury, non-sticky formula. This neutral-rose, yet glamorous shade provides the perfect glisten for any lip look and complements any skin tone! Can be worn alone or in combination with other Starlooks lip products for a truly customizable finish." I have tried this out (and forgot to take a pic for you guys) and I really liked it. It's a nice light rose shade that is perfect for a light make-up day. It wasn't sticky just like it says it isn't and I really felt like that after it wore off my lips were still nice and soft, it didn't dry them out. I really loved this product and may purchase the full size in the future. This is a deluxe sample and a full size retails for $13 on Starlooks' site.

The last item I got in my bag was the Be A Bombshell Eye Base in the shade Submissive. This is an item that it was kind of meh about. It says that "this eye base is a highly pigmented, long-lasting product that can be used as a single cream color or used as an eye base to build color. Bombshell Application: Apply lightly with fingertip to create a natural finish. Layer for added color. Bombshell Tip: Create a more intense look by layering with a powder eyeshadow." It's kind of a gold shade and I'm just not sure if I'll use it. Who knows, maybe I'll try it out or maybe I'll just pass it on to someone else. I haven't decided yet. This is a full sized product and it retails for $14 on Be A Bombshell's site.

That's all I got in my Ipsy bag this month. Overall I was pleased with it and for $10 a month you really can't go wrong. I can't wait to see what they've got in store for December! Stay tuned and I'll show you what I get next month!!
